Keanu Reeves Transforms Into The MCU’s Ghost Rider In New Fan Art

A new piece of fan art imagines John Wick and The Matrix star Keanu Reeves as Ghost Rider for the MCU.

Fans have been itching to fit Keanu Reeves into an MCU role for quite some time, and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that he has spoken with the John Wick actor about a future role. However, it doesn’t appear that Keanu Reeves will be needed for a role in the MCU anytime soon.

One character that fans seem to be hopeful that Keanu Reeves might play is the Johnny Blaze version of Ghost Rider, a Marvel icon who has already appeared within the context of the MCU. While Gabriel Luna portrays the Robbie Reyes version of the character in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC, the character’s backstory also indicates that Johnny Blaze is alive and well in the MCU, giving the younger character his set of powers while he was at death’s door. Johnny Blaze was portrayed through his CGI-heavy alter-ego, and aside from Gabriel Luna doing the mo-cap for that character, no actor was connected to the role. So, with this in mind, Instagram user Death.Streak007 has come up with a new image showcasing what Keanu Reeves may look like as Ghost Rider. You can see Keanu Reeves as Ghost Rider below.

It should be noted that this picture does not explicitly have Keanu Reeves replace Gabriel Luna as the character. Robbie Reyes drives a car, while Johnny Blaze drives a motorcycle, which can be seen in the background of the fan art. There is room for both characters to exist at the same time in the MCU.

For the time being, the MCU future of the Ghost Rider intellectual property is unclear. Gabriel Luna portrayed the Robbie Reyes iteration of the character in the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and while he did not return after his initial set of appearances, he was considered one of the more popular additions to the series. While the character was slated to get a series on Hulu, the streamer halted development on it for reasons that were not fully explained (although it’s presumed that budgetary concerns was one of the main reasons that the show was axed). While Ghost Rider was set to be the flagship title of a new label of horror-influenced Marvel shows, that title will now go to Helstrom as future Marvel TV series are evaluated by Kevin Feige.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest updates on Keanu Reeves, Ghost Rider and the MCU.
