Global Box Office: 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' Reaches $733 million; 'Fate Of The Furious' Surpasses $1.2 billion worldwide.

While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has dropped to second place in its third week at the domestic box office, earning an additional $35.1 million, it still continues to be successful. The film has brought in an estimated $430.8 million at the international box office and $301.8 million domestically.

This brings the film’s global total to $732.6 million. $55 million of that total amount comes from IMAX tickets. By the end of next week, it’s estimated that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will surpass $800 million globally. The only other Marvel Cinematic Universe film to do so was Iron Man.

Elsewhere, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, which bombed at the U.S. box office, making only $27.2 million over ten days, the film has made a global amount of $93 million. Still, the film cost $175 million to make and is considered a bomb as it will continue to drop once Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Wonder Woman hit theaters in the next weeks.

The Fate of the Furious is still making money, both domestically and internationally. So far, the eighth film in the Fast and Furious franchise has surpassed an estimated $1.213 billion at the global box office. It’s now the twelfth highest-grossing film ever and the sixth biggest money-maker overseas. Coming in ahead of The Fate of the Furious‘ global takeover is Disney’s Beauty and the Beast with $1.221 billion globally, bringing it into the top ten grossing films. So of course, Disney will continue making these live-action films. So far, it’s working wonders for them.

We’ll see how the next couple of weeks worth of films shake things up a bit domestically and globally, so stay tuned.
