‘God Of War’ Director Wants To See A Netflix Adaptation

The director behind the most recent God Of War game thinks the series is ripe for a Netflix adaptation.

While many fans would argue that a God Of War Netflix series would be unnecessary given how cinematic the most recent installment in the series was, the director behind the incredible game thinks the title is ripe for a Netflix adaptation. Director Cory Barlog took to Twitter to explain that he thinks a God Of War Netflix series would be a perfect fit on the streaming service when GamesIndustry asked about which titles could work os a television series.

The director then followed his tweet up by explaining that his enthusiasm for a God Of War Netflix series wasn’t a hint, but he just wanted to point out that games and TV are extremely similar. He went on to say that viewers and players both spend a larger amount of time connecting with a group of characters. And in the case of God Of War, a Netflix series would most likely let the extreme violence from the games translate over into live-action. Take a look at Cory Barlog explaining why he thinks a God Of War Netflix series would work below.

Would you like to see a God Of War Netflix series? Who do you think should play Kratos? Sound off in the comments below!

God Of War follows the story of Kratos, a spartan warrior who made a pact with the Greek god of war, Ares. Before being killed off by an enemy, Ares gave Kratos the power of the Blades of Chaos to vanquish almost anyone who stood in his way in the name of the gods. After finding out that Ares lied to him, leading him to kill his own wife and daughter, Kratos went on a rampage to enact revenge on all of Olympus. After finding out that Zeus himself was his father and wanted to kill him as well, Kratos ends up butchering him and fleeing to the Nordic region. The most recent iteration of the God Of War franchise pits Kratos against Norse foes while he journeys to spread his late new wife’s ashes with his son, Atreus.
