‘Godzilla’ Anime Film Releases Concept Art & Cast List

Though Godzilla has become an international phenomenon, the character’s roots in Japan have endured since making his debut Ishir? Honda’s 1954 film. However, while the character has appeared in countless movies, books, comics, television shows and even video games, the King of the Monsters has yet to star in his own anime feature. That will soon change when Polygon Pictures releases the first anime Godzilla film and now the studio has unveiled their first look at the upcoming feature.

The film’s official website has announced the cast members for the upcoming film. The cast includes stars Yuuki Kaji, Takahiro Sakurai, Mamoru Miyano, Junichi Suwabe, Kana Hanazawa and Tomokazu Sugita.

In addition to releasing the cast list, new concept art has been revealed. The illustration offers fans a look at a mysterious wooded area as a team of hi-tech soldiers make their way along the terrain, accompanied by a few animatronics.

What do you think of the concept art? Do you like the science-fiction aesthetic for a Godzilla film? Are you excited to see the first Godzilla anime feature? What Share your thoughts below!

Conceived and written by Gen Urobuchi, the film will be directed by Kobun Shizuno and Hiroyuki Seshita.

The film is set to be released later in 2017.
