Avengers: Endgame opens later this week but the summer movie season is only just beginning. Godzilla: King of the Monsters arrives in theaters next month and Warner Bros. has released a final trailer for the movie that’s packed with epic monster mayhem.
You can watch the Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer below.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is the third entry in Legendary Pictures’ MonsterVerse. The franchise began in 2014 and continued in 2017 with Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ Kong: Skull Island. After Godzilla: King of the Monsters opens in theaters, two of the most iconic movie monsters will clash on the big screen once again in Godzilla vs. Kong in 2020. Adam Wingard is set to direct that epic crossover.
Directed by Michael Dougherty from a script by Dougherty, Max Borenstein and Zach Shields, Godzilla: King of the Monsters stars Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Ken Watanabe, Zhang Ziyi, Anthony Ramos, Jonathan Howard, Aisha Hinds, Elizabeth Ludlow and Randy Havens. Here’s the synopsis:
Following the global success of “Godzilla” and “Kong: Skull Island” comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters roars into theaters on May 31, 2019. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for more updates from the MonsterVerse.
