2020's Godzilla VS Kong is apparently going to take the MonsterVerse back to Atlanta, Georgia for filming a number of scenes.
Omega Underground has learned that Godzilla VS. Kong will reportedly film a lot of its principal photography in Atlanta. It is rumored that characters from King of the Monsters may be reappearing in the crossover, although there’s not word on any returning characters from Godzilla or Kong: Skull Island. While Vancouver, Canada seems to be a favorite filming location of director Adam Wingard, there does not seem to be any indication that he will be returning there to film anything.
As mentioned above, it’s not known when Godzilla VS. Kong will begin filming. Filming for Godzilla: King of the Monsters was completed this year, even though the movie won’t be released until March 22, 2019. Filming for the sequel could begin sometime next year, or Warner Bros. and Legendary could play things more by ear and wait until they’ve test screened their next MonsterVerse movie before having the cameras roll.
Godzilla VS. Kong is set for release on May 29, 2020. None of the movie’s cast has been announced, aside from the title confirming mandatory appearances from the two CGI monsters.
