‘Godzilla vs Kong’ Gets Delayed To November 2020

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have announced that Godzilla vs Kong has been delayed to November 20, 2020 – a whole eight months after its original March 13, 2020 release date.

This surprising update comes from The Wrap, whose sources told them that Godzilla vs Kong has shifted its release date for the second time. Initially, Godzilla vs Kong was set to hit theaters on May 29, 2020 to get pushed a week earlier to May 22, 2020.

Godzilla vs Kong was then pushed to March 13, 2020 to avoid competition with Universal Pictures’ upcoming Fast & Furious 9. Now, fans are going to have to wait another eight months until the two most iconic giant monsters in cinematic history face off in this epic battle.

Godzilla vs Kong is the culmination of three films in Legendary Pictures’ MonsterVerse franchise that began with Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla in 2014. It was followed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ Kong: Skull Island which established the shared cinematic universe. Earlier this year, Michael Doughterty’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters continued the series, with more nods to the MonsterVerse including King Kong’s existence.
