‘Goosebumps 2’ Official Title Revealed By Sony Pictures Promotional Image

Sony's Goosebumps turned out to be a moderate success, so it's not unsurprising to hear that it's getting a sequel. Today, that sequel was named.

Goosebumps turned out to be an unlikely franchise-starter for Sony Pictures, making back nearly triple its production budget, and a sequel is on its way. Sony has revealed the name of the next film in the series, and has released a bit of promotional art to go with it.

According to License GlobalGoosebumps 2 is officially being called Goosebumps: Horrorland. The promotional art showing the film and its release date can be seen below.

Horrorland – a carnival full of monsters – is not only a location in one of the books (One Day At Horrorland), but it was also the subject of a spin-off series that expanded upon that setting nearly fifteen years after the publication of the original book. Considering that the first Goosebumps movie was more or less a “best of” feature showcasing the most famous monsters in R. L. Stine’s long-running series, it only makes sense that this new movie would focus on the monsters introduced in a Goosebumps spin-off series.

Goosebumps: Horrorland will open on September 21, 2018. Robert Letterman and Darren Lemke, who respectively directed and wrote the first Goosebumps movie, will return for the sequel, as will producers Deborah Forte and Neal H. Moritz. Jack Black is expected to return.
