For the past five years, Gotham has explored the origins of Batman, Commissioner Gordon, and several of the classic villains the duo will face in the future. Now, it appears the final season of the series may introduce Barbara Gordon, a.k.a Batgirl, based on the following synopsis for the episode titled “13 Stitches”:
Gordon assembles an unlikely team to protect Gotham from Eduardo Dorrance (guest star Shane West) and his Delta Force. Just as Lee Thompkins resurfaces, Barbara reveals shocking news that will change Gordon’s life forever. Meanwhile, Selina and Penguin team up to outsmart fellow villain Magpie (guest star Sarah Schenkkan) in the all-new “13 Stitches” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, Feb. 14 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
After Jim and Barbara Keane broke up in the second season, the latter became one of the most infamous villains in Gotham City and fans questioned if we would ever see Barbara Gordon’s birth before the series concluded. However, a recent episode ended with Barbara and Jim hooking up in a locked office in Gotham Central and the promise of “news that will change Gordon’s life forever” has fans speculating Barbara Gordon could make her debut soon.
