Gotham is set to conclude this year and Robin Lord Taylor’s The Penguin will soon become the iconic Batman villain fans remembers from the pages of DC Comics. While the character has gradually gained power and lost his sanity over the course of the series, Taylor assured fans they will see the Penguin from the comics before the show wraps:
“We jump forward at the end of the season so we’ll actually get a glimpse of the Penguin that we all grew up [on].”
After confirming he will wear a fat suit for his role as future Penguin, Robin Lord Taylor explained that the Penguin won’t look like a cartoon:
“It’s interesting, because I was talking to our costume designer John Glaser, and I was saying I don’t want him to be a cartoon-like, I was thinking of like the blueberry girl from Willy Wonka. I didn’t want that kind of look so we went with something a little more monstrous and there’s a hunch on his back. He’s becoming a monster in this season.”
