The Flash Season 6 seems to be gearing up for filming soon, as Grant Gustin recently shared a picture of him shaving off his hiatus beard. That means casting news of the upcoming season should be coming out as well. TV Line provided a brief update on the sixth season, saying that Caitlin and Cisco will become friends with a scientist, who is described as:
“A socially awkward, African-American genius in math and science (who specifically is a bit obsessed with aliens and their tech).”

It was also recently announced that The Flash will have their annual San Diego Comic Con panel, where we can expect news on Season 6. The San Diego Comic Con panel will take place on Saturday at 5:45 PM.

The Flash is expected to return for its sixth season this October. Season 6 will also lead us into the next Arrowverse crossover event, Crisis On Infinite Earths.
