Green Lantern Writer Really Approves Of Deadpool 2

Green Lantern writer Marc Guggenheim commented on Deadpool 2's post-credits scene depicting Deadpool attempting to prevent Green Lantern.

Green Lantern co-writer Marc Guggenheim commented on Deadpool 2‘s post-credits scene depicting Deadpool going back in time to prevent Green Lantern.

Deadpool 2 took a page from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 by including multiple post-credits scenes. While one actually had relevance to the film’s plot, the others were played for laughs. Among these was a scene in which the titular character goes back in time to kill Ryan Reynolds before he gets a chance to shoot Green Lantern. The films have had multiple jokes at the expense of the 2011 superhero flick that also starred Reynolds. This scene, however, took one step further by depicting Reynolds’ blood splatter on the script of the superhero box office bomb.

Guggenheim, of Arrow fame (or infamy), commented on Deadpool 2‘s burns at Green Lantern with approval.  The writer took to Twitter to voice his opinion:

Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Nathan Summers/Cable, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapcic as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al and Karan Soni as Dopinder. The film is now playing.
