James Gunn reveals the 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' China release date and debuts a new international poster for the film.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is getting closer and closer to the release date and today, via his Twitter account, director James Gunn announced that the film will get a simultaneous release alongside the U.S. theatrical release.
“So happy Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be in theaters across China on May 5th, same as in the US!”
Along with this news, Gunn also revealed a new poster for the film. You can check out Gunn’s announcement and poster below!
Giving Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 the same release date as the U.S. will no doubt increase the amount the film makes globally. The film’s predecessor, Guardians of the Galaxy, didn’t open in China until two months after its U.S. release and it made a good amount of money, earning $96 million.
Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
Directed by James Gunn, the film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Kurt Russell.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be in theaters May 5, 2017.
