‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ Will Have Some Earth Scenes

Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige has confirmed that Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 will have a handful of scenes set on Earth.

Unsurprisingly, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is going to take in space, but it turns out that there are going to be a few scenes set on Earth. However, you shouldn’t expect to see Peter Quill to return home in the movie, nor should you expect Drax to visit the “whole planet of outlaws” like he said that he wanted to.

ComicBook.com reported that Marvel Studios mastermind Kevin Feige confirmed that the space opera sequel will have a few scenes set on Earth, just like the first movie did in its prologue. Feige’s full statement was as follows:

“There’s a little bit of Earth in this film, but it’s not these characters going to Earth.”

So as it stands, it seems as though none of the main cast will be visiting Earth, as Marvel is most likely saving that for Avengers: Infinity War or its sequel. The most likely guess is that at least one of the Earth scenes in the movie are going to concern Peter’s father, Ego the Living Planet, meeting with his mother in a flashback. Another likely option is that one or both of the movie’s stingers will be set in our corner of the Galaxy instead of in deep space. Hopefully, we should get more of an idea as the movie gets closer to release.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 rockets into theaters on May 5, 2017.
