Since 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' hit theaters, the Yondu-Mary Poppins joke has lit up the internet. Now, Michael Rooker has gotten in on it too.
Not to be outdone, Michael Rooker himself has gotten in on the joke, a moment Marvel Studios captured and posted to their Twitter account. Posing with a Mary Poppins character actor at what looks to be a Disney park, it seems that Yondu has met his new idol. You can see the picture of the two below.
In fact, this joke is so popular that fans have suggested that Michael Rooker should have a cameo in December 2018’s Mary Poppins Returns, although no party has yet to actually comment on the possibility of this actually happening. For now, there’s a Change.org petition with over two-thousand signatures.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is playing in theaters right now. The film stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, and Kurt Russell as Ego.
Mary Poppins Returns is set to arrive December 25, 2018. The film’s cast includes Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw as Michael Banks, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, and Dick Van Dyke.
