Fan Spots Adam Warlock Easter Egg In ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’

Quite a redundant headline, I’m sure you’re probably thinking, given that you see Adam Warlock in one of the hundred post-credits scenes in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. This probably doesn’t qualify as an Easter Egg since it’s in plain sight and you’ve probably already seen it, though any hints and nods to Adam Warlock definitely take on a new form in light of James Gunn’s firing from the Guardians of the Galaxy films, given that he had previously intended for Adam Warlock to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

So what is the Easter Egg in question? Remember the opening mission of the second Guardians of the Galaxy film? Well, if you notice behind Gamora at one point, you see a statue of sorts that’s fitted at the top that looks very similar to Adam Warlock’s Karmic Staff, as one user pointed out on Reddit:

With Adam Warlock making his debut in a post-credits scene of the film, that tease could have been a precursor to his actual debut, whether in the end of Vol. 2 or the third Guardians film. But again, whether that ends up being the case could depend on who steps into the director’s chair after James Gunn. Sure, his script may still be in play, but who is to say that won’t go through several based on what the new director wants for the direction of the film? What do you think of this Easter Egg?
