‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’: Runtime Revealed

The runtime for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has been revealed. The James Gunn-directed sequel hits theaters May 5th, 2017.

Director James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be hitting theaters in just a little over 2 weeks and we now know how long the Marvel sequel is going to be.

According to the British Board of Film Classification, the film will run 135 minutes, 34 seconds, or about 2 hours, 15 minutes. In comparison, the first Guardians film ran 2 hours and 1 minute, so this film will have a little bit more room to breathe. Or maybe that extra 15 minutes is to accommodate the reported five post-credit scenes the film features.

Following recent press screenings, the social media buzz for the film has been mostly positive, so I don’t care if it’s 3 hours or how long it is, I just can’t wait to finally check the film out. Until then, I’ll just keep listening to all of the songs on the newly-released Awesome Mixtape #2 tracklist.

Here’s the official synopsis for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2:

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Directed by James Gunn, the film stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Starlord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Vin Diesel as the voice of Baby Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Racoon, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Sean Gunn as Kraglin/on-set Rocket, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, Glenn Close as Nova Prime and Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet. Sylvester Stallone and Michael Rosenbaum also star.
