‘Hellboy’: Guillermo Del Toro Supports Ron Perlman After Reboot News

Last night, Hellboy creator Mike Mignola announced that an R-rated Hellboy reboot is in development with Stranger Things star David Harbour in talks to play the titular character. While the news was welcomed by most fans, those who hoped that Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman would return to direct and star, respectively, in a third Hellboy film were likely disappointed by the development. However, with Game of Thrones and The Descent director Neil Marshall in talks to helm the reboot, both del Toro and Perlman will not involved in the new Hellboy film.

Perlman expressed his thoughts on the news via Twitter, thanking fans for their support after the news broke, to which del Toro responded by sending his love to his former star and collaborator. Both del Toro and Perlman had expressed interest in returning for third Hellboy film, but the filmmaker later confirmed that the project would not be developed.
