While Gwyneth Paltrow has been a recurring actor in Marvel Studios’ films, the Iron Man star seems to have difficulty remembering which MCU projects she’s appeared in since making her but as Pepper Potts. During an appearance on Netflix’s The Chef Show, Gwyneth Paltrow appeared stunned to learn she made a cameo in Spider-Man: Homecoming after Jon Favreau raised the topic.
More recently, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Marvel co-star Sebastian Stan recalled having to introduce himself to her on more than one occasion and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said the Iron Man star had forgotten Samuel L. Jackson was part of the franchise. In an interview with Elle, Gwyneth Paltrow revealed she hasn’t read the online reactions to these stories but attributed her forgetfulness in part to the number of Marvel films produced:
“I never read stuff. […] But it is confusing because there are so many Marvel movies, and to be honest, I haven’t seen very many of them. It’s really stupid and I’m sorry, but I’m a 47-year-old mother.”
Gwyneth Paltrow most recently played Pepper Potts in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame. While Gwyneth Paltrow has stated she plans to retire from the Marvel franchise after Avengers: Endgame, she also left the door open for possible cameos in the future.
Here is the official synopsis for Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame:
The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”
