Pablo Schreiber has been cast as Master Chief in Showtime’s upcoming Halo television series.

In the video games, Master Chief is a biochemically and cybernetically-enhanced supersoldier who is never seen without his iconic green-colored armor and helmet. Raised and trained from an early age to be a weapon, Master Chief is a playable character in five installments of the Halo video game series and Pablo Schreiber’s version of the character is described as follows:

“Earth’s most advanced warrior in the 26th century and the only hope of salvation for a civilization pushed to the brink of destruction by the Covenant, an unstoppable alliance of alien worlds committed to the destruction of humanity.”

Newcomer Yerin Ha has also joined Showtime’s Halo series as Quan Ah, a character described as “a shrewd, audacious 16-year-old from the Outer Colonies who meets Master Chief at a fateful time for them both.”

Kyle Killen (Awake) and Steven Kane (The Last Ship) are on board Showtime’s Halo series as co-showrunners and executive producers. Showtime describes their adaption of Halo as “weaving deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.”
