Watch Hans Zimmer's full 'The Dark Knight' Trilogy performance at Coachella. The event took place last week and Zimmer's performance is 13 minutes long.
Last weekend, Hans Zimmer performed some of his music at the annual Coachella festival. During his hour-long performance, he played music from The Dark Knight trilogy, among many of his several film scores. Coachella has slowly started to release performances from various artists. The performance itself is hauntingly beautiful, with powerful strobe lights penetrating the stage as Zimmer conducts the orchestra. Behind Zimmer and his orchestra lies a giant screen that echoes the aesthetic seen from Christopher Nolan’s beloved films. My favorite part of this performance is during the 9-minute mark where Zimmer and others start chanting the “Deshi Bashra” chant from The Dark Knight Rises.
Zimmer stated that he would be retiring from the super-hero genre, but took back his words earlier this year, saying he’d be game if the script was good. The last superhero movie Zimmer scored was Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Hans Zimmer’s next score will be heard in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, which hits cinemas on July 21, 2017.
