HBO’s President Says ‘Watchmen’ Season Two Is Up To Damon Lindelof

HBO’s President of Programming Casey Bloys says that it is entirely up to Damon Lindelof whether or not Watchmen has a second season.

Last year saw the release of Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen series on HBO. The show was praised critically, with a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes but was equally as controversial among fans for different reasons. There was, however, the question as to whether or not the series would return for a second season. Creator and showrunner Damon Lindelof has been rather vague about what he wants to do with the series and has suggested that the series could be a one-season deal.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the HBO president dived into why no one seemed to have a direct answer regarding the second season of Watchmen. It turns out he wants to follow Damon Lindelof’s lead and is behind whatever he wants to do:

“Where we left it with Damon was he’s thinking about what he wants to do and I’m taking his lead on that. If he has an idea that he’s excited about, then I’m excited; if he wants to do something else, then that’s what I want to do.”
