While Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy films are beloved by fans, the upcoming reboot is aiming for an R-rating with a greater emphasis on the horror elements from the original source material in an attempt to differentiate itself from the previous films by del Toro. However, the new trailer left many fans feeling that the tone of the reboot isn’t all that different from the previous films despite the production value paling in comparison. While most are out outright displeased with the trailer and others are willing to keep an open mind, at best, a handful of fans have expressed excitement over director Neil Marshall’s new take on the character.
Two people even compared the film to Suicide Squad.
