Henry Cavill Gets Classic Red Trunks In Superman Image

Henry Cavill finally dons the classic red trunks as Superman in a new image.

When the first image of Henry Cavill as Superman was released it featured a red trunks free design. Fans of the classic Superman comics were shocked as the suit resembled the New 52 rendition of the cape and tights.  Now a new piece of fan art has given Henry Cavill the classic Superman accessory.

Although Cavill is amongst the most beloved to play Superman, the actor walked away from negotiations to reprise his role last year after the studio failed to reach an agreement that would have seen the actor return for a cameo, delivering two lines in Shazam!. The actor is now filming The Witcher series for Netflix but fans still hope for his return as Superman in the DC’s shared cinematic universe. Cavill can be as Superman in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League.

Following Aquaman, which is now playing, the DCEU continues in April with Shazam! on April 5, 2019, which will be followed by Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.
