Fans React To First Look At Henry Cavill As Geralt In Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’

Fans have taken to social media to share their reactions to the first official look at Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher.

Today, Netflix unveiled an official video featuring Henry Cavill in costume as Geralt of Rivia for Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of The Witcher. While some fans have negatively compared Henry Cavill’s monster slayer to other fantasy characters – including the elves from the Lord of the Rings films – and are disappointed that he doesn’t have Geralt’s facial scars, others seem to approve of the look and are even more excited to see Netflix’s take on the material.

You can check out some of the reactions below!

Based on the fantasy series of novels and short stories by Andrzej Sapkowski, Netflix’s The Witcher will follow the monster slayer for hire named Geralt of Rivia. Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich will also serve as an executive producer on the series while Alik Sakharov, Alex Garcia Lopez and Charlotte Brändström are on board as directors for the eight-episode first season.

The Witcher stars Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson as Eist, Adam Levy as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Aretuza, and Millie Brady as Princess Renfri, with Mimi Ndiweni and Therica Wilson-Read as novice sorcerers.

The Witcher will be available on Netflix at an undetermined time.
