Henry Cavill Is The Perfect ‘Kingdom Come’ Superman In New Image

An impressive new piece of art reveals why Henry Cavill would be a perfect live-action version of Kingdom Come‘s Superman.

Back in June 2013, The DC Extended Universe kicked off with director Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, which featured actor Henry Cavill as Clark Kent, aka Superman. Since then, the actor has starred as Superman in two additional films, 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017’s Justice League. One thing that DCEU fans have been clamoring for ever since 2013 though is for Henry Cavill to star in another Superman solo movie. Although rumors have been swirling around for years regarding the project, nothing official has happened just yet.

Over the past year, Henry Cavill’s future in the DCEU has become uncertain and with Ben Affleck’s recent departure from the role of Batman, things aren’t looking too bright for fans hoping to see the actor play the Last Son of Krypton once more. One talented fan has created an awesome piece of Kingdom Come-inspired art that features Henry Cavill as the comic book event’s version of Superman. It may not be a Man of Steel sequel but it is an exciting piece of art that’s sure to whet the appetite of Henry Cavill fans itching for another appearance of the actor in the costumeCheck out the awesome image in the Instagram post below.

Kingdom Come is a four-part mini-series that debuted in 1996. The event was written by Mark Waid and Alex Ross and appeared under DC’s Elseworlds banner, which was also used for The CW’s most recent Arrowverse crossover event simply titled Elseworlds, featuring Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (Grant Gustin), and Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) battling The Monitor (LaMonica Garrett). Kingdom Come‘s incredible art was illustrated by co-writer Alex Ross, who has provided art for a number of iconic comic books over the course of his legendary career. Kingdom Come has yet to be adapted into the live-action medium and surprisingly hasn’t even been the focus of a DC animated film yet.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Henry Cavill’s Superman as soon as more information becomes available.
