Henry Cavill Returning As Superman In Multiple DC Comics Movies

Henry Cavill will return as Superman in multiple upcoming DC Comics movies.

As some of you may know, Henry Cavill exited the role of Superman after he and Warner Bros. failed to come to an agreement on a new contract for the actor to continue playing the character. Cavill was supposed to make a brief cameo at the end of the Shazam! movie, but instead we only got to see Superman from the neck down. Just as fans started to give up hope, something surprising happened: Henry Cavill made an appearance during Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel watch party where he and the director revealed that the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League would be released on HBO Max. This signaled the possibility of Cavill returning as Superman and it seems that that possibility just became a reality.

According to Deadline, Henry Cavill is in talks to return as Superman, but just not in the way fans wanted. The trade notes that Cavill will appear in multiple upcoming DC Comics movies but a sequel to Man of Steel is not currently on the table. It is currently unclear which films Superman will appear in, but if I were a betting man, I’d put my money on Shazam! 2.

You can check out our video below for an in-depth look at this breaking story.

Cavill has certainly received the short straw during his tenure as the Last Son of Krypton and news of a sequel not being in the cards is sure to dishearten fans around the world. Although the actor hasn’t really gotten the chance to really delve into the mythos of Superman, I’m sure news of his return will soften the blow. In any case, this is a really great time to be a DC Extended Universe fan.

Henry Cavill was last seen as Superman in Justice League. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for more updates on Henry Cavill, Superman and Man of Steel 2 as we learn it. Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more amazing content!
