A rumor came out on Monday that Armie Hammer was in early talks to replace Ben Affleck as Matt Reeves’ young Batman. The report was later debunked by multiple outlets and Armie Hammer later said the story was false himself in an interview on Tuesday. Armie Hammer was once set to play Batman in George Miller’s canceled Justice League Mortal more than a decade ago.
Before being cast in Man of Steel, Henry Cavill was also almost cast as as Kal-El in J.J. Abrams’ canceled Superman: Flyby. Henry Cavill’s future as Superman is currently up in the air, with the actor negotiating for a new deal. Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer both starred in Guy Ritchie’s The Man from UNCLE and new Boss Logic art imagines the two side-by-side as Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne, with Ben Affleck officially done with the role.
