Superman Actor Henry Cavill Looks Like A Total Bad Ass In This Image For ‘The Witcher’

A stunning piece of artwork shows Superman actor Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia for Netflix’s The Witcher.

Henry Cavill made his debut as Superman in Man of Steel and reprised the role twice, but his future as Kal-El is currently uncertain as Warner Bros. is reportedly shelving the DC Comics icon in favor of focusing on Supergirl for the time being. While Henry Cavill has expressed his interest in reprising his role as Superman if asked, there has been no movement on that front.

Fortunately, Henry Cavill won’t be gone for long as the Superman actor will bring Geralt of Rivia to life in Netflix’s highly-anticipated adaptation of The Witcher, which premieres later this year. Now, digital artist Dratini has shared new artwork featuring Henry Cavill in full armor as Geralt of Rivia complete with his sword in hand.

The Witcher showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich will also serve as an executive producer on the series while Alik Sakharov, Alex Garcia Lopez, and Charlotte Brändström are on board as directors for the eight-episode first season.

Here is the official synopsis for Henry Cavill’s The Witcher:

Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

The series stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson as Eist, Adam Levy as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Aretuza, and Millie Brady as Princess Renfri, with Mimi Ndiweni and Therica Wilson-Read as novice sorcerers.

The Witcher will be available on Netflix in late 2019. Stay tuned for the latest news on Henry Cavill and the upcoming Netflix series!
