We’re fans of what digital artists create to satisfy our need to see our favorite silver screen actors playing as other superheroes or even different versions of the superheroes they already portray. This time we get a great depiction of Henry Cavill’s Superman with his famous The Death And Return Of Superman black suit that we didn’t get to see him don in Justice League. Check it out:
Henry Cavill’s Superman was supposed to wear the black suit when he was revived by the other Justice League members, although the film finally showed him with just his pants on. As you may or may not know, the black Superman suit was made famous when he was revived after being killed by Doomsday way back in 1993’s The Death And Return Of Superman, very similar to what we saw happen to Henry Cavill’s Kal-El in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Justice League. Needless to say, it would have been awesome to see Henry Cavill’s Superman in his black suit.

Following Aquaman, which is now playing, the DCEU continues in April with Shazam! on April 5, 2019, which will be followed by Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
Although the next Superman film hasn’t been announced or slated yet, or if Henry Cavill will reprise his role, Supergirl is one of the many projects being developed over at Warner Bros. and DC. The studio has tasked Oren Uziel to pen the script. Meanwhile, Superman is still rumored to cameo in Shazam!, but it’s unclear if it will be Henry Cavill. Here is the synopsis for DC’s next film:
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).
Directed by David F. Sandberg, DC Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Ron Cephas.
Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.
