Before the release of 2017’s Justice League, movie fans were teased with an image of Henry Cavill in the famous black suit as Superman uploaded to Instagram by the film’s director at the time Zack Snyder.
There was also a deleted scene from Justice League that later made rounds online with Henry Cavill’s Kal-El visiting the same Kryptonian ship as seen in 2013’s Man of Steel where he uncovers his father’s military armor as well as his black suit. However, we never see Henry Cavill actually don the suit in the film.
A fan edit for Justice League was recently uploaded to Twitter by @CDawsonAuthor depicting the voice of Darkseid speaking to Henry Cavill’s Kal-El in a black suit and bringing him back to life. You can view this fantastic edit by clicking on the image below!
Artist Chris Dawson definitely captures the essence of Darkseid in this ominous edit. How this would have played out in the finished film will never be known, but the fan edit is still very impressive and makes fans ponder on what could have been.
What did you think about Chris Dawson’s black suit edit? Would you have liked to see Henry Cavill don the famous black Superman suit? Do you think Henry Cavill will return for another outing as Superman? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
Here’s the official synopsis for Justice League:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. The DCEU continues with Aquaman, which is in theaters now, followed by Shazam! on April 5, 2019, Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
