British actor Henry Cavill made his first appearance as Superman in 2013’s Man of Steel and was last seen as the DC Comics hero in 2017’s Justice Leauge. Unfortunately, there isn’t any indication as to when the 36-year-old actor will reprise his role as Superman as the DC Extended Universe is currently reshuffling its slate and priorities. However, should Henry Cavill fail to reprise the role of Superman, the MCU seems to have the perfect role for him.
Henry Cavill could fit right into the role of Captain Britain, one of Marvel’s most interesting characters. We haven’t seen Captain Britain in the MCU as of yet, so there is still an opportunity to introduce him in the future. For now, digital artist ApexForm has shared this new concept design on Instagram, showing Henry Cavill suited up as Captain Britain for the MCU. Check it out below.
Henry Cavill isn’t letting the lack of Superman in his life keep him down as he will soon be seen in Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher. As for the DCEU, Henry Cavill’s future as Superman is currently in limbo. Seeing as his Justice League co-star Ben Affleck departed the franchise, it would make sense that Henry Cavill would also be positioned to leave it. On the other hand, fellow Justice League members Wonder Woman and Aquaman are getting sequels to their own solo films, which means there is still a chance that we could get another Superman movie. Only time can tell what’s in store for Henry Cavill when it comes to superheros. One thing is for certain, though: he’d definitely make an authentic Captain Britain for the MCU, which seems to be expanding more and more ever year.
Here is the official synopsis for Henry Cavill’s latest DCEU movie, Justice League:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Henry Cavill, Superman, Captain Britain and the MCU!
