Michael B. Jordan has already said that he’d like to play the Calvin Ellis version of Superman if he ever takes over the role from Henry Cavill. Although Calvin Ellis would be an excellent choice, there’s another possibility for Michael B. Jordan to play Superman on the silver screen. Another Kryptonian named Val-Zod shares striking similarities to both Clark Kent and Calvin Ellis and the character would be a perfect fit for Michael B. Jordan. Here’s what Michael B. Jordan could look like as Val-Zod.
Although Henry Cavill hasn’t officially stated that he’s done with Superman, he’s currently engaged on other projects like Netflix’s The Witcher. Henry Cavill has become somewhat of an icon due to his portrayal of the Man of Steel. Although it doesn’t seem likely that he’ll exit the role soon, the DCEU will have to rejuvenate somehow in the future and it seems Michael B. Jordan would be an excellent replacement for Henry Cavill’s Superman as Val-Zod.
Would you like to see Michael B. Jordan replace Henry Cavill as Superman in the DC Extended Universe? Let us know in the comments!
Following Shazam!, which is now playing, the DCEU continues with Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
Supergirl is one of the many projects being developed over at Warner Bros. and DC. The studio has tasked Oren Uziel to pen the script. There’s still no news about the third Man Of Steel installment or even if Henry Cavill will be attached to it. Meanwhile, Superman has a cameo in the Shazam! movie, but Henry Cavill’s face isn’t shown during the scene.
