‘Justice League’ Star Henry Cavill Dons ‘Superman: Red Son’ Suit In New Image

Digital artist liveactioner has shared an awesome piece of fan art that features Justice League star Henry Cavill with the Superman: Red Son suit.

Henry Cavill has starred as Superman in multiple DC Comics films, with the most recent one being 2017’s Justice League. While most of the films featuring his character have received some negative feedback, there are many fans clamoring for more movies with Henry Cavill’s Superman. Recently, a digital artist took to Instagram to post artwork reimagining the Justice League star as the Red Son version of Superman.

You can see Justice League star Henry Cavill with the Superman: Red Son suit below.

The image shows Justice League actor Henry Cavill as the Red Son version of the character from the Mark Millar Elseworlds story Superman: Red Son. Millar’s story has a very simple premise: What if Superman’s rocket landed in the Soviet Union instead of Kansas? The mini-series is one of the best stories from DC’s Elseworlds imprint, but it has not yet been adapted for the big screen. The closest adaptation that we’ve seen so far was seen on the fourth season of The CW’s Supergirl with the introduction of Red Daughter.

For now, Henry Cavill is trading his Superman suit for the lead role in Netflix’s The Witcher. Based on the fantasy series of novels and short stories by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher will follow the monster slayer for hire named Geralt of Rivia. Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich will also serve as an executive producer on the series while Alik Sakharov, Alex Garcia Lopez and Charlotte Brandstrom are on board as directors for the eight-episode first season.

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson as Eist, Adam Levy as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Aretuza, and Millie Brady as Princess Renfri. Mimi Ndiweni and Therica Wilson-Read are also on board as novice sorcerers. The series will be available on Netflix later this year.

Henry Cavill’s take on Superman was last seen in Justice League. Here’s the official synopsis:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for more updates on Superman and the rest of the Justice League members!
