Netflix Bringing Henry Cavill’s ‘The Witcher’ Series To SDCC 2019

Netflix has announced its plans for Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, which include panels for both The Dark Crystal and The Witcher series starring Superman actor Henry Cavill.

The streaming service has included two panels in its lineup for Comic-Con. On Friday, July 19 at 2:15 p.m., Netflix will host a panel for Henry Cavill’s The Witcher series, offering fans the exclusive scoop on what’s to come from the new series. The panel will be followed by an exclusive sneak peek at The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance at 3:30 p.m. (also in Hall H).

Based on the fantasy series of novels and short stories by Andrzej Sapkowski, Netflix’s The Witcher will follow the monster slayer for hire named Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill). Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich will also serve as an executive producer on the series while Alik Sakharov, Alex Garcia Lopez and Charlotte Brändström are on board as directors for the eight-episode first season.

Although the story of Henry Cavill’s Superman is still unfinished, he has yet to work out a deal with Warner Bros. to return as for another appearance. Beyond The Witcher, Henry Cavill recently began work on Enola Holmes with Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown.

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson as Eist, Adam Levy as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Aretuza, and Millie Brady as Princess Renfri, with Mimi Ndiweni and Therica Wilson-Read as novice sorcerers.

The Witcher will be available on Netflix in late 2019.
