Henry Cavill Teases The End Of Training For ‘The Witcher’

In a recent post, Superman actor, Henry Cavill, teased the end of the training for the upcoming show, The Witcher.

In the post, Henry Cavill showed a picture of himself in a trailer with a rather large dog to his right. In the caption he stated that the end of his training period was near and the final trials are fast approaching:

Another week of Witcher training complete at Kaer Morhen. The final trials are fast approaching.

Henry Cavill is, of course, referring to the headquarters of the School of the Wolf. In The Witcher series, Kaer Morhen is an old castle that is the home to several members of the school, of which Geralt is a part of. From an early age, children are taken to places like Kaer Morhen where they are subjected to rigorous training before completing the “Trial of Grasses” which only three in ten survive. Those who succeed become witchers. The rest die in agony.

The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

The upcoming series is based on the fantasy novels and short stories by Andrzej Sapkowski. Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich will also serve as an executive producer on the series while Alik Sakharov, Alex Garcia Lopez, and Charlotte Brändström are on board as directors for the eight-episode first season.

The Witcher will be available on Netflix at an undetermined time.
