Although it’s not yet clear how Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige will add the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one question that constantly comes up is who will replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. The Australian actor left some huge shoes to fill, especially following his emotional departure from the character in James Mangold’s X-Men spin-off Logan. It’ll be interesting to see how the MCU adapts the mutants into the continuity that Feige worked so hard on building over the past few years. The world’s been saved several times over by superheroes, so there needs to be a compelling reason why governments are scared of mutants in particular.
Digital artist Boss Logic recently took to Instagram to share a new piece of fan art that imagines what Wolverine would look like if he was played by Superman star Henry Cavill. Obviously, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine was a very different hero to Henry Cavill’s Superman, with the mutant being a brutal killer thanks to his adamantium claws and long military career. However, Henry Cavill looks the part in this cool artwork, which shows off a bloody Wolverine who’s taken a few gunshots as well as several gashes showing off his adamantium bones. You can check out the fan art of Henry Cavill replacing Hugh Jackman below.

Last summer, Marvel Studios confirmed plans to include mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during its 2019 San Diego Comic-Con presentation. However, the studio is reportedly in no rush to introduce the X-Men to the MCU, meaning it will likely be some time before we learn who will replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
