‘Hobbs & Shaw’: Dwayne Johnson Reveals First Look At Idris Elba In ‘Fast & Furious’ Spinoff

Dwayne Johnson has taken to social media to reveal the first look at Idris Elba in the upcoming first-ever spin-off of the Fast & Furious franchise, Hobbs & Shaw.

Johnson posted the image on his Instagram account this afternoon, revealing Elba as the film’s villain, Brixton. Details on the film’s plot remain under wraps, however, the film is set to feature an unlikely team-up between Johnson’s Hobbs and Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw after the franchise breakout’s discovered an undeniable chemistry in The Fate of the Furious.

Hobbs & Shaw is being directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2) from a script written by franchise veteran Chris Morgan. Original Film’s Neal H. Moritz and Seven Bucks Productions’ Hiram Garcia are producing the film.

The film stars Johnson, Statham, Vanessa Kirby, and Elba.

A spinoff of The Fate of the Furious, focusing on Johnson’s US Diplomatic Security Agent Luke Hobbs forming an unlikely alliance with Statham’s Deckard Shaw.

Hobbs & Shaw will hit theaters August 2, 2019.
