Debbie Reynolds, mother of Carrie Fisher and the iconic Hollywood actress who starred in 'Singin' in the Rain' and many other films has passed away.
Debbie Reynolds was with her son Todd Fisher at his Beverly Hills home earlier today, discussing funeral plans for Carrie Fisher when she was suddenly rushed to the hospital, due to a possible stroke. Reynolds passed away at the hospital today, confirmed by her son, who told TMZ,
“She’s with Carrie.”
Along with Singin’ in the Rain, her many credits include The Affairs of Dobie Gillis, Susan Slept Here, Bundle of Joy, The Catered Affair, and Tammy the Bachelor. She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her performance in the film, The Unsinkable Molly Brown. She also received a Tony nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Musical for her role in Irene.
A documentary, titled Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds premiered at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, and will also premiere on HBO on March 2017.
Debbie Reynolds is survived by her son Todd Fisher and her granddaughter, Billie Lourd. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends today during this heartbreaking time.
