After their critically acclaimed Horizon: Zero Dawn released back in February 2017, it was only a matter of time until Guerrilla Games developed a follow up to the best selling title which sold 10 million copies.
According to a recently updated job listing, Guerrilla Games is actively searching for a writer to help “push the boundaries” of their storytelling aspect of the game that will truly captivate its players with the games narrative and the characters they will meet throughout the journey.
Video games have certainly changed a lot over the past couple of years. Games like Fortnite have changed the landscape of gaming with their “free to play” option and still raking in millions of dollars. Yet some gamers prefer to play a game with a compelling story and a world that they can lose themselves into like 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2.
So it makes sense that Guerrilla Games would want to one-up their already impressive Horizon: Zero Dawn with a new storyline and even more immersive gameplay.
As of right now, no title for a Horizon sequel has been announced but Guerrilla Games, as they did with their Killzone titles, will probably change the second half of their Horizon title or just follow up with Horizon: Zero Dawn 2. Which actually doesn’t sound or look all that bad.
Even though there is no confirmed release date because there is no writer on board as of yet, it can be assumed that Guerrilla Games would like to release the sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn with the next generation of consoles likely to release in 2020.
What are your thoughts on Guerrilla Games possibly looking for a writer for the sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn? Did you play the original game? What elements did you like and what do you think can be improved? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
