Yes, I said animated programs, as these will be more adult-themed programs of the Marvel variety in the same way that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist (I guess), Luke Cage, and The Punisher were more adult themed compared to the likes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter. Based on a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Hulu has greenlit the four animated programs for MODOK, Howard the Duck, Hit-Monkey, and Tigra & Dazzler.
Sticking with the Marvel Netflix comparisons for a moment, these four series will ultimately culminate in a crossover show called The Offenders. Real subtle, guys. Anyway, the series will all be handled by Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb and add to Marvel and Hulu’s programming which, currently, includes The Runaways. Talent such as Patton Oswalt, Kevin Smith, and Chelsea Handler are attached to the projects.
Well, if we aren’t going to get that FX Deadpool series, we can contend with this in the meantime. What do you think about seeing the likes of MODOK and Howard the Duck get the adult animated treatment? Also, what do you hope to see when the four separate series are brought together for The Offenders? Would you want to see any teases or nods to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
