Hugh Jackman Wears His Accurate Wolverine Suit In Incredible Image

Logan star Hugh Jackman may no longer be Wolverine, but that’s not stopping artists from designing artwork with his version of the iconic X-Men character.

In the 17 years he portrayed Wolverine for 20th Century Fox’s live-action X-Men movies, Hugh Jackman never actually got to wear the character’s classic yellow and blue costume from the comics. Arguments against using this suit were due to the fact that it would seem too goofy on screen, especially since Fox’s X-Men movies had a very distinct tone to be taken more seriously.

Regardless of the grounded approach to his look, critics and audiences welcomed Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, with the actor spending nearly two decades in the role. Even with that in mind, some fans are still wondering how the comic book version of his suit would’ve looked like on the silver screen, and digital artist George Evangelista shared this remarkable concept design of Hugh Jackman wearing the suit on Instagram. You can check out the artwork featuring Hugh Jackman below.

This concept of the classic suit gives Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine a more muted color scheme that would have worked well with what Fox’s X-Men franchise established with both the original 2000 cast era as well as the 2011 X-Men: First Class era that ended with the studio’s final X-Men movie Dark Phoenix.

Hugh Jackman bid farewell to Wolverine in James Mangold’s Logan, but the future of the character is now in the hands of Marvel Studios and sometime in the future he will be implemented into the canon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With that in mind, it is nearly a guarantee that Hugh Jackman and the overwhelming majority of the X-Men cast (with the likely exception of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool) will be replaced for the MCU.

But even with Hugh Jackman no longer playing Wolverine, this piece of artwork can give artists at Marvel Studios some inspiration into bringing the iconic suit to life on the big screen for the first time. And given the MCU’s track record, it will likely opt for a suit that is comic book-accurate and will perhaps have a brighter color scheme to further distinguish their take on the Mutants from the previous iteration.
