Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine performance in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men series is constantly noted as one of the best comic book character portrayals in cinematic history, but fans will always be disappointed that the Australian actor never got the chance to wear the classic yellow costume from the comics. And although a deleted scene from Hugh Jackman’s The Wolverine teased the suit, fans have yet to see the X-Men hero dish out some mutant justice in the comic-accurate look.
A new piece of fan art from digital artist “Mizuriofficial” shows Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine with the iconic yellow costume, complete with his pointed cowl. The artwork of X-Men star Hugh Jackman shows off a very tactical looking suit, boasting armored plating for Wolverine’s brawler fighting style. The role of Wolverine is expected to be recast following Hugh Jackman’s final appearance as the X-Men hero in Logan. Marvel Studios confirmed plans to include mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during its 2019 San Diego Comic-Con presentation. However, the studio is reportedly in no rush to introduce the X-Men to the MCU, meaning it will likely be some time before we learn who will replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
Directed by James Mangold, Logan stars Hugh Jackman, Dafne Keen, Patrick Stewart, Stephen Merchant, Boyd Holbrook, and Richard E. Grant. The X-Men movie is available on Digital HD, 4K, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
