Fans will remember the film’s trailer capped off with an epic shot of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes charging together towards the army of Outriders but this shot was absent from the film’s final cut as was Hulk from the battle of Wakanda. Instead, Hulk refused to come back out for the remainder of the film following the opening scene in which he was easily beaten by Thanos.
While it seemed Hulk may have been afraid to take on the Mad Titan again, Infinity War directors The Russo Brothers have confirmed Hulk simply refused because he doesn’t want to fix Bruce Banner’s problems for him anymore. But thanks to this concept art, and the shot above which was left out of the film, it’s clear this wasn’t the original plan Big Green Guy.
Mark Ruffalo is set to reprise his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk in the next untitled Avengers film. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers 4 is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.
A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.
