Fans of 'Marvel's Inhumans' have launched a petition calling on ABC to renew the series for a second season despite low ratings & negative reviews.
Following a short-lived and critically panned IMAX release, the Inhumans premiere delivered decent ratings but continued to lose viewers as the season progressed. While the series evidently failed to resonate with viewers, it does appear to have a passionate group of fans who are hoping to see Inhumans return for a second season. Now, these fans have launched a petition on Change.org calling on ABC to renew the show with a new showrunner.
A portion of the petition reads as follows:
For all the haters wanting this to be canceled, they seem to forget as to how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. improved after the initial episodes and is currently one of the best comic book shows on air.
Further, once gone, these characters will never EVER return and that seems to me like such a waste. Instead, they should give the show another chance, maybe with a shorter run with a higher budget and maybe with a NEW SHOWRUNNER as some of the people who hated Iron Fist and Scott Buck just transferred that hate for him (maybe unconsciously) on this show as well and for the fact that he may, INDEED, not be the right person to handle the Inhuman mythos.
While ABC has yet to make an official decision on the future of Inhumans, ABC entertainment chief Channing Dungey’s recent comment on how the series did not perform as well as the network had hoped have left little reason for fans to be optimistic about the show’s future.
“After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.”
Marvel’s Inhumans stars Anson Mount, Serinda Swan, Iwan Rhoen, Ken Leung, Eme Ikwuakor, Isabelle Cornish, Mike Moh, Sonya Balmores and Ellen Woglomas.
