‘Inhumans’ Will Be Like Nothing You’ve Ever Seen, Says Executive

The development process on Marvel’s Inhumans has been interesting to say the least, given that it went from being a Phase 3 movie to a Phase 4 movie to a television series that would be partially screened in theaters. Nonetheless, the scope of the adaptation is going to remain large, as a recent statement from a Disney executive states that the show is going to be like nothing we’ve seen before.

The executive said the following at the LA Screenings when briefly discussing the new show:

“I promise you, this is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before on television. It brings a richness and depth of storytelling.”

While the Inhumans have been introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before via Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the characters used are street-level Inhumans and relatively recent additions to the roster of characters. The new show will focus entirely on the affairs of the Inhuman Royal Family, who are among the oldest and most powerful of their kind. The show will run for eight episodes in its first season and will partially be filmed in IMAX, suggesting that the visual effects budget on the show is going to be substantially higher than Marvel’s previous televised efforts.

The first two episodes of Inhumans will be shown in IMAX theaters on September 1 for a two-week run before the show makes an actual premiere on September 26, featuring the remaining episodes and additional content not shown in the IMAX screening of first two episodes. The show’s cast includes Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Serinda Swan as Medusa, Iwan Rheon as Maximus the Mad, Ken Leung as Karnak, Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, Mike Moh as Triton, and Sonya Balmores as Auran.
