‘Injustice 2’: Ed Boon Teases Obscure And Third Party Characters

Yesterday during a Twich livestream NetherRealm boss Ed Boon teased about including more somewhat obscure characters on the Injustice 2 roaster.

Just yesterday during a Twich livestream we had the pleasure to look at some new gameplay footage of the upcoming game Injustice 2, this time featuring Damien Wayne as Robin and some of his really sick moves. Besides showing us some new gameplay and details about the game, NetherRealm boss Ed Boon teased about including more somewhat obscure characters on the Injustice 2 roster.

So far the confirmed playable characters in the game are Robin, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Superman, Supergirl, Aquaman, Atrocitus, Gorilla Grodd, Blue Beetle, and Wonder Woman. And considering that the original game, Injustice: Gods Among Us, features a roster of 30 characters from the DC Comics universe, I think there is plenty of room to include lesser known heroes and villains in the next game.

But one of the most exciting things said by Boon is that here is good chance that NetherRealm will release third-party characters as DLC for Injustice 2, just as they did for Mortal Kombat X. Of course we don’t expect to see Jason Voorhees or The Predator making an appearance, but perhaps we’ll get to see some Mortal Kombat fighters taking on the Justice League.

You can check out the new gameplay trailer showing Robin in action below.

So are you excited to see some new faces in Injustice 2? Which character are you hoping to see in the upcoming game? Let us know in the comments below.
