Insomniac Teases Spider-Man PS4 Sequel Already In The Works

Last year, we were witness to the complete annihilation of half the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s population. One of the victims surprisingly was the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and audiences around the world were shell shocked.

He wasn’t gone for long however because later in the year Marvel and Sony released the smash hit Marvel’s Spider-Man exclusively for the PS4 console. Upsetting many loyal Xbox players, myself included.

The good news is, fans don’t have to hold their breath that much longer on the sequel because it may already be on the way! Take a look at what Bryan Intihar, Creative director of the series had to say on his Twitter account below!

Could the director be teasing the fans that the follow-up video game is well on its way?

Sure the post was vague and did not say exactly what game this first story draft was for, but it’s hard to imagine he’d be prioritizing anything else over a home run franchise like Spider-Man. If the game is not completely in development, we can at least hope a sequel is in conception.

Based on the ending of the game, which we won’t discuss for spoiler purposes, you can make sure assumptions of who will be involved and where the story is going.

What did you think about Marvel’s Spider-Man? Are you excited for a sequel? If so, what direction do you think Marvel and Sony will go? Let us know in the comment section below!

The video game has been released worldwide since the beginning of September now, and it seems as if developer Insomniac Games is always adding new suits to the wide-spanning roster that is available for players to choose from. These new suits are typically available to unlock with purchases of the new downloadable content packages. The new “Silver Lining” DLC pack includes the new suit featured in Into the Spider-Verse, another movie tie-in. Fans have also been asking the developers if they would include the “Venom” or “Symbiote” suit in Spider-Man, and, if Insomniac Games still have more surprises up their sleeve like today’s, maybe that request is not too far fetched.

“Starring one of the world’s most iconic Super Heroes, Spider-Man features the acrobatic abilities, improvisation and web-slinging that the wall-crawler is famous for, while also introducing elements never-before-seen in a Spider-Man game. From traversing with parkour and unique environmental interactions, to new combat and cinematic blockbuster set pieces, it’s Spider-Man unlike any you’ve played before.”

Spider-Man is now available on the PlayStation 4.
