Insomniac Games Finally Puts The Sam Raimi Suit In ‘Spider-Man’ PS4

Ever since the critically and commercially successful release of Marvel’s Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4, fans have been clambering to have one particular suit included in the video game’s already wide selection of suits — the Sam Raimi / Tobey Maguire costume. For quite a long time, it seemed as if this suit would simply never make it in the actual game, as other suits were being added, but not this one. Recently, developer Insomniac Games even responded to fan tweets seemingly confirming that they would not put the suit in the game for players to use.

However, luckily, fans can now rejoice as it is official — the costume is now in the game for all owners of the game to use. The best part? It is free to use. All players have to do to unlock the suit is simply update the game, go to their suit selection menu, and it should appear. This is not the only suit appearing in the PS4 Spider-Man video game that is based on a movie suit, either. We already have the “Stark Suit” from Spider-Man: Homecoming, and the “Iron Spider” suit from Avengers: Infinity War. But now, the fans of the original Spider-Man film trilogy can relax and have some fun swinging around the city in classic film style.

The video game has been released worldwide since the beginning of September now, and it seems as if developer Insomniac Games is always adding new suits to the wide-spanning roster that is available for players to choose from. These new suits are typically available to unlock with purchases of the new downloadable content packages. The new “Silver Lining” DLC pack includes the new suit featured in Into the Spider-Verse, another movie tie-in. Fans have also been asking the developers if they would include the “Venom” or “Symbiote” suit in Spider-Man, and, if Insomniac Games still have more surprises up their sleeve like today’s, maybe that request is not too far fetched.
