The conflict between the two reaches fever pitch near the end of the film when Iron Man finds out that Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) was the one who killed his parents. This leads to Iron Man at his most angry, where he ends up in a battle against his former friend Captain America and the Winter Soldier as an act of revenge against the man who killed his parents.
The battle between Iron Man, Captain America and the Winter Soldier is one of the most exciting fights in all of the MCU. The choreography in this sequence is almost unmatched, even with the epic scale seen in Avengers: Infinity War. Part of that is due to how the stunt coordinators and choreographers brought the fights to life.
James Young, a fight choreographer/coordinator and stuntman shared a video on his Instagram that gives people a behind-the-scenes look at the battle in Civil War. Young is donning the Iron Man suit while Jackson Spidell is in the role of Cap. You can check out the video down below:
It is always entertaining to see how the stunt performers bring these fights to life in the MCU. In the case for Civil War, no combat sequences in the MCU have topped it yet in terms of the precision and craftsmanship exhibited.
Iron Man and Captain America will need to sort out their differences when we next seem them in Avengers: Endgame next year. Here’s a tentative synopsis:
